Bangladesh cricket captain Shakib Al Hasan has been elected as a Member of Parliament by reporting an easy victory in yesterday's general election.
The country's media said that Shakib had won his seat with a majority of 150,000 votes.
Shakib, who is the captain of all the three Bangladesh Test, ODI and 20/20 teams, ran for the election from the Awami League, which is led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
