Mayor Vitali Klitschko says that the air defense units of the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, are engaged in order to suppress a Russian missile attack.

Ukraine's air force has wa ed that cruise missiles are heading towards the capital and told people to stay home.

Airstrikes were reported in northeaste Kharkiv region and central Cherkasy, and explosions in southe Mykolaiv, according to foreign media.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian cruise missiles were detected passing over weste Lviv, Te opil and Ivano-Frankivsk.
