Houthi rebels have launched a missile attack on an oil tanker sailing in the Gulf of Aden.

Foreign reports stated that the attack caused a fire in one of the ship's cargo containers, and fire extinguishers were used to control it.

No casualties were reported as a result of the attack, and all crew members were able to be safely evacuated, the US said.

Foreign reports have stated that this is the latest attack on commercial shipping by Houthi rebels in and around the Red Sea.

The UK's Maritime Trade Commission said the attack took place 60 nautical miles south-east of Aden.
