238 Ceypetco fuel sheds at risk of closure

December 20, 2023 - 3:20 PM
The Fuel Separators Association has said that there is a risk of closure of  Ceypetco fuel sheds.

They point out that this situation has arisen due to the fact that the corporation is ready to recover 35 percent of the commission currently due to the petrol stations as maintenance fees.

The Distributors Association also stated that the Corporation has informed that the relevant money should be provided before December 25th and if not, the release of fuel will have to be suspended.

It is stated that 238 Ceypetco fuel stations are currently operating and the owners of those fuel stations are currently entitled to a commission of 2.75 percent.

Also, the fuel distributors stated that the corporation will collect 0.25 percent of the commission amount currently entitled to the fuel stations as monthly usage fees.

They also point out that it is unfair to charge another monthly usage fee in this situation.

Although this proposal was presented in 2006, after discussions in 2014 as well as a decision of the board of directors in 2021, the charging of usage fees was cancelled.

In spite of this, it is reported that the corporation has decided to collect 35 percent of the commission due to the petrol stations by circular number 1053.

In addition, the corporation has informed that the arrears owed to the corporation by the owners of fuel must be paid in 12 installments.
