Mr. Ajith Gunasekara, Chairman of Animal Producers Association, says that the prices of chicken and eggs will further decrease during the festive season.

He said that if the price of imported animal feed increases due to the increase in VAT, this situation may change.

Mr. Ajith Gunasekara further stated that due to small and medium scale farmers continuously sending their products to the market, there is a possibility of selling an egg at a price between 35-40 rupees.
