Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera announced in Parliament today (08) that a committee consisting of a judicial judge was appointed to conduct an independent investigation into the incident of the Chinese fertilizer ship.

Accordingly, the minister said that today (08) a committee consisting of an adjudicator will be appointed for the independent investigation.

Based on the recommendations given, further action will be taken regarding the Chinese fertilizer ship.

The Minister stated this in response to an oral question directed by Member of Parliament Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara regarding the loss of 6.7 million dollars due to the importation of Chinese fertilizers.
