Customs duty revenue falls

The Sri Lankan Customs Department says that this year, compared to 2018, there is a significant decrease in customs tax revenue.
Customs Media Spokesman, Director of Customs Mr. Sivali Arukgoda said that the loss of tax revenue imposed on vehicle imports due to the significant drop in vehicle imports has also directly affected this situation.
Mr. Sivali Arukgoda expressed these views while attending a press conference held in Colombo.
Meanwhile, in a discussion with the officials of the Income Tax Department, the Minister of State for Finance Mr. Ranjith Siambalapitiya stated that necessary steps will be taken to achieve the goals of tax revenue expansion.
