3,465 cases of suspected dengue have been reported within the jurisdiction of the Colombo Municipal Council, according to its Chief Medical Officer Ruwan Wijayamuni.

He mentioned that there is a possibility of this situation developing with the current monsoon rains.

In the meantime, the doctor said that 320 children with severe acute malnutrition have been reported, and he added that he was able to reduce the number of children to 102 by giving them all nutritious food.
