Steps to resume operations in Galle prison

The Prisons Department says that the activities of the Galle Prison, which had been restricted due to reports of inmates suffering from brain fever, will resume from next Saturday.
Recently, an inmate of Galle Prison died of brain fever and eight other inmates were admitted to Karapitiya Hospital due to fever.
However, so far, four patients have recovered and the condition of the prison has retu ed to normal, says Prison Commissioner Gamini B. Dissanayake, Prison Media Spokesperson.
