The five-month strike by Hollywood writers is over

Hollywood writers have ended their strike early today (27) after almost five months.

Union leaders have voted unanimously to lift the ban and end the strike, the Writers Guild of America said in a statement.

According to foreign media, its 11,500 members will vote in the near future on whether to approve a three-year deal that provides pay increases and security.

It is also said that the actors who are on a separate strike will be involved.

The writers' walkout began on May 2, making it the longest strike to hit Hollywood in decades, and was joined by members of the Screen Actors Guild on July 13.

They were on strike over wages and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the film industry.
