U.S. meteorologists wa Hurricane Otis has become a storm as it moves toward the Pacific coast of southe Mexico.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) says that the hurricane has now increased to 145 mph.
Hurricane Otis is expected to strengthen to a Category 5 storm by the time it makes landfall.
By Friday, rain is expected in weste coastal areas, reaching Guerrero and neighboring Oaxaca state.
Ahead of the typhoon's arrival, Guerrero authorities have prepared emergency shelters and canceled schools across the state.
