Sajith's and Anura's teams in discussion with IMF representatives

A meeting has taken place between a group of representatives of the Inte ational Monetary Fund and Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition.

It is reported that a group including Mr. Peter Brewer, representing the Inte ational Monetary Fund, was present at the relevant meeting held at the office of the Leader of the Opposition.

Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, has pointed out that the current gove ment has excessively increased many types of taxes, including VAT, giving a heavy tax burden to the people, saying that it is the order of the Inte ational Monetary Fund.

Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, has further pointed out that due to this, the common people, pregnant women, children, middle class, gove ment employees and other people from many fields have become helpless.

Meanwhile, a discussion between the representatives of the Inte ational Monetary Fund and the representatives of the National People's Force was also held at the Janatha Vimukti Peramuna's head office yesterday.

It was also reported that a group of representatives, including Mr. Peter Brewer representing the Inte ational Monetary Fund, had gathered for the related discussion.

Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Member of Parliament representing the National People's Power, former Member of Parliament Sunil Hadunnetthi representing the Economic Council of the National People's Power and a group of others have participated in this discussion.
