India's new High Commissioner will provide necessary support for the SL development

Mr. Santosh Jha, the new Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, says that he will further strengthen the Indo-Sri Lankan friendship and provide the necessary support for the development of Sri Lanka.

Mr. Santosh Jha, who was appointed as the new High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, visited Kandy yesterday (18) where he mentioned this in the presence of Malwatu and Asgiri Maha Nayaka Thero.   

When he came to the Asgiri Maha Vihara, he met the great leader of the Asgiri faction, Most Venerable Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thero, and the great leader of that faction, the Most Venerable Thibbattuwe, Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero, at the Malwathu Maha Vihara.

The High Commissioner, who said that the friendship between the two countries since many centuries will continue to be strong, said that there is an unbreakable religious and cultural bond with the introduction of Buddhism to this country from India.

He further mentioned that India always expects the development of Sri Lanka.
