Water level in Mahaweli reservoirs up to 46%

With the rains, the water level in the Mahaweli reservoirs has risen to 46%.
Mr. Nilantha Dhanapala, Director of Water Control Secretariat of Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority stated that the capacity of Kothmale reservoir has increased to 77% and the capacity of Victoria reservoir has increased to 44%.
The release of water for cultivation in the high season has already started.
Mr. Nilantha Dhanapala said that the work will be completed on the first day of next month.
He asks the farmers to start cultivation as per the schedule.
