Notice of industries exempted from VAT

In order to reduce the cost of health care, the gove ment has decided to exempt Ayurvedic products and industries related to indigenous medicine from VAT, says the Minister of State for Indigenous Medicine Mr. Sisira Jayakodi.
The Minister of State has also mentioned that the cabinet has approved the establishment of a special bureau to solve the problems affecting the traditional healers and to secure the indigenous medicine system.
State Minister Sisira Jayakodi mentioned this while attending the news conference held today (04) at the Presidential Media Center.
The Minister of State for Local Medicine has also said that Ayurvedic Health Care Centers will be introduced in the field of local medicine under the initiative of the Ayurveda Corporation.
