A UN committee has voted to list the prehistoric ruins near the ancient city of Jericho in the West Bank of Palestine as a World Heritage Site.
This decision has been criticized by Israel.
This decision has been taken under the auspices of UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
That was at a meeting of the United Nations World Heritage Committee held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
