An amendment to the Penal Code

Several decisions have been reached in the Cabinet meeting held yesterday (24) under the chairmanship of the President.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has also given its approval to submit amendments mainly to the Penal Code.
The Council of Ministers held on 18.01.2021 and 28.06.2021 to introduce amendments to the Penal Code to amend the laws on statutory rape mentioned in the Penal Code, to correct the existing deficiencies in the law related to rape and to make rape of boys a criminal act has been approved.
Accordingly, the Atto ey General's clearance has been received for the bill prepared by the drafter.
The Minister of Justice's proposal to publish the bill in the Gove ment Gazette and then submit it to Parliament for approval has been approved by the Cabinet.
