Schools close due to air pollution in Delhi

Authorities in India's capital Delhi have closed all primary schools for two days amid worsening air pollution levels.
For the first time, the air quality in the city has dropped to a severe level, according to foreign media.
Scientists say that it is expected to get worse in the next two weeks.
It is also said that an emergency meeting has been called by the Delhi Environment Minister to review the situation.
Foreign media reports that Delhi is one of the most polluted cities in the world.
Studies conducted by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee have shown that the city's air pollution will increase from November 1 to 15 when the number of straw bu ing incidents in the neighboring states of Punjab and Haryana increases.
Considering this, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that all gove ment and private primary schools in the city will be closed on Fridays and Saturdays.
Last month, the Delhi gove ment imposed a comprehensive ban on the manufacture, sale and use of firecrackers in the city.
