Showers or thunderstorms this afternoon

The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in the Northe , North Central and Easte provinces.
It also states that heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places in the Northe Province.
After 2.00 PM in Uva and Central Provinces there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms.
There may be several periods of rain in the North-West, West, Sabaragamuwa and Southe provinces.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
