Smoking ban lifted in New Zealand

Prime Minister Jacinda Arde 's decision to ban cigarettes in New Zealand has been suspended.

That is according to the decision of the new Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and his right-wing National Party Alliance gove ment.

Prime Minister Jacinda Arde and her Labor gove ment had decided to ban the sale of cigarettes to people bo after 2008.

Accordingly, New Zealand became the first country to ban smoking.

But the new gove ment had promised to raise funds for tax cuts.

New Prime Minister Christopher Luxon explained that the gove ment's smoking ban will have to be suspended for that.
