There has been a flood situation to the extent that all small vehicles traveling on the Southe Expressway are unable to exit the Kokmaduwa Interchange and go in both directions (Weligama and Kananke).

About 1 1/2 feet towards Weligama and about 4 feet towards Kananke, Weligama Imaduwa road has reached water.

Large vehicles can currently move towards Weligama and not towards Kananke.

The Road Development Authority further requests that vehicles coming from Colombo should use Palatuwa Interchange and Godagama Interchange for vehicles coming from Mattala to exit.
