New method to get TIN number

State Finance Minister Mr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that steps are being taken to convert a person's National Identity Card number into the relevant Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
The Minister of State also said that this decision was taken after a discussion with the President's Secretary in a discussion held yesterday (23) to provide it more easily to the general public while the normal system of obtaining the tin number is in operation.
The state minister said that this process will be done using the bio-data information system of about 15 million people over 18 years of age and said that through this a clear data system about the state income will be created in the country.
