The maiden flight of Turkish Airlines, starting direct flight services with Sri Lanka, has reached Katunayake Airport this mo ing (30).
Accordingly, it is stated that the flight TK-730 arrived at Katunayake Airport from Istanbul, Turkey at around 05.40 this mo ing.
261 passengers have arrived at Katunayake Airport from this flight.
The flight takes 08 hours and is scheduled to depart from Turkey at 05.40 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and again at 07.40 am from Katunayake Airport.
For about 10 years, Turkish Airlines had maintained its flight services to Katunayake Airport via Maldives, and the airport authorities expressed confidence that the number of air passengers coming from Turkey to Sri Lanka would triple with the start of direct flights.
