The Cabinet has approved the President's proposal to establish a new University of Science and Technology.
Accordingly, the new science and technology universities are to be established with the support of a renowned university in the United States of America.
The gove ment hopes that through such a university, it will be possible to utilize cutting-edge technology, foster global academic linkages, and create a basic environment for research and development.
The proposed new university is to be established as a public private partnership by selecting one partner university from among several identified universities including UC Berkeley, UC Riverside, UC Davis, University of Michigan and cooperating with those universities.
This new University of Science and Technology is to be established with the aim of creating a foundation for producing a group of skilled professionals to lead the critical sectors of new scientific discoveries, technological innovation and sustainable development.
