The central bank cuts policy interest rates

Under Central Bank of Sri Lanka Act No. 16 of 2023, the Monetary Policy Board conducted its second monetary policy review yesterday (23).
In this review, the Monetary Policy Board decided to reduce the central bank's policy interest rates, the Regular Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) and the Regular Lending Facility Rate (SLFR), by 100 basis points to 9.00 percent and 10.00 percent, respectively.
