India-Sri Lanka passenger cruise service starts

The cruise service between India and Sri Lanka will start from today.
Its first passenger vessel is scheduled to reach Sri Lanka this mo ing (14) from India, according to the Ministry of War, Shipping and Civil Aviation.
It is stated that this passenger ferry service will be carried out between Nagapatnam in South India and Kankasanthuraya port in Sri Lanka.
The ministry said that the vessel with fifty passengers from Nagapatnam is scheduled to reach Kankasanthuraya port at around 11.30 am today.
The Indian Shipping Corporation is operating the passenger ferry service and a new passenger terminal has also been constructed at the Kankasanturaya port premises for immigration purposes.
This passenger ship, which comes to the island from India in the mo ing, is scheduled to depart from Kankasanthuraya port at 02.30 pm.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Civil Aviation says that a round-trip ticket costs Rs 53,500 and a one-way ticket costs Rs 27,000.
