Here is the latest team to get Aswasuma

After considering 7 lakh relief appeals and objections, another 03 lakh families are newly eligible for relief.

The Ministry of Monetary, Economic Stabilization and National Policy indicates that the number of families who became ineligible is 5,000.

Acting Finance Minister Mr. Shehan Semasinghe stated in a statement that after considering 640,000 objections and appeals regarding the Aswasuma Welfare Benefit Program, a new number of 300,000 families have been qualified to be included in Aswasuma.

According to the minister, the number of families receiving relief benefits has exceeded 17 lakhs.

The minister also said that the installments from July to December will be released to the banks as soon as possible to the newly selected families before the next installment amount is given.

Due to appeals and protests, 5,209 families who were receiving relief so far have become ineligible and another 2,567 families have moved down from the level they were receiving benefits.

The minister points out that another 50,882 people have moved up their benefit level.

The Minister further stated that nearly 11 lakh appeals and objections had been received and consideration of them would be completed as soon as possible.

Acting Minister of Finance Mr. Shehan Semasinghe revealed these facts in a discussion held with the Welfare Benefits Board today (18) at the Ministry of Finance.
