Foreign media reports that charges have been filed against four people involved in the robbery of an 18 carat gold toilet from Blenheim Palace.

The theft took place in 2019 and the toilet is said to be part of an art installation at Blenheim Palace.

Named 'America', the £4.8 million (equivalent to around Rs. 50 crore) luxury commode has been designed by renowned Italian concept artist Maurizio Cattelan.

A place of historical importance, Blenheim Palace is said to be the birthplace of former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Winston Churchill.

Accordingly, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has announced that criminal charges have been given against four people involved in the theft.

These four suspects are scheduled to appear at the Oxford Magistrate's Court on November 28.

The foreign media further states that this golden toilet was previously exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 2016.
