An investment of 553 million dollars from America in Colombo port

The US Inte ational Development Finance Corporation (DFC) announced today (08) that more than $500 million has been committed to the development of a deep-water shipping container terminal at Colombo Port.

The US Embassy in the country said that DFC's commitment to providing financing for high-quality infrastructure is reflected through this new terminal.

This investment further demonstrates the sustained commitment of the United States to Sri Lanka's economic growth and its regional economic integration, including with India, it added.

Accordingly, DFC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Scott Nathan arrived in Sri Lanka for the ceremony to announce the financing of $553 million to Colombo West Inte ational Terminal Private Limited to support the development of the Deep Water West Container Terminal located within the Port of Colombo.
