President talks about a new education system needed in SL

President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that in order to lead the country to an economic transformation, a new education system that is compatible with the world is needed.
The President points out that by doing so, professionals needed for the competitive world market can be produced.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe stated this while participating in the national program of free distribution of school textbooks and school uniforms to schoolboys and girls held at Kollupitiya St. Anthony Girls' College today (14) mo ing.
The President stated that by reducing the burden of examinations and including English and technology subjects in the education system, it is expected to produce a child suitable for work, and there are plans to establish new vocational colleges and universities of technology.
The president pointed out that due to the severe economic crisis in the country in 2022, not only the education sector but every sector suffered a collapse, and it was not possible to provide school textbooks and uniforms.
Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe stated that no leader came forward to rescue the country from that economic crisis, and he said that at that time he accepted the relevant challenge and started the program to restore the country's economy.
