University non-academic staff are planning the next course of action

The General Conference of Inter-University Trade Unions has said that it is planned to call all trade union representatives to Colombo and take a final decision regarding future actions this weekend.
The Inter-University Trade Union General Conference engaged in a symbolic strike yesterday (18) demanding that the increased allowance for the academic staff be given to the university's non-academic staff as well.
In an inquiry made today, its joint secretary Mr. K. L. D. G. Richmond said that he will participate in the service activities of the universities as usual from today and will make a final decision regarding his future trade union actions at the weekend.
