A resolution about the Gaza Strip is passed

The United Nations Security Council has passed a resolution requesting aid to the Gaza Strip.
Foreign reports stated that the Security Council made this request to its members after several days of discussions regarding the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
However, it is reported that no immediate ceasefire has been called for between Israel and Hamas.
An earlier resolution brought by the United States was supported by 13 of the 15 council members calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, but the United States vetoed it and the United Kingdom abstained from voting.
The Hamas-ruled Gaza gove ment says more than 20,000 people have been killed in Israeli strikes.
