1.24 billion rupees to the state treasury

The two companies of Ceylon Sugar Company, Sevanagala and Pelawatta, which are under the purview of State Minister Dilum Amunugama, have given an amount of 1.24 billion rupees to the state treasury.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe and the Treasury Secretary have been presented this amount by way of a cheque.
With the payment of this amount, it is reported that the criteria in the circular issued by the gove ment to pay gratuity to the employees of Ceylon Sugar Company is fulfilled.
It is stated that a new method of giving gratuities to employees will be introduced at the end of 2023.
Major General Sarada Samarakoon, Chairman of Ceylon Sugar Company, also participated in the presentation of the amount.
