Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated in the Parliament today (08) that no amount will be charged for the water used for agro-industrial activities.

The Minister stated this in response to a question raised by the Member of Parliament Mr. Vijitha Herath.

Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera said that various things were published in the media, but there is no such need.

Emphasizing that no money will be charged, the minister said that he will educate about water management and inform farmers to use water sparingly.
